How To Update Your Address to USCIS

All noncitizens in the United States must report a change of address to USCIS within 10 days (except A and G visa holders and visa waiver visitors) of moving. USCIS encourages all noncitizens to submit a change of address to USCIS through a USCIS online account. Updating your address using an online account helps to ensure you receive all correspondence and benefits from us in a timely manner and avoid possible delays related to your case. To use the online request form, individuals need a USCIS online account, and must enter their last name, date of birth, and new physical and mailing addresses. Individuals are also encouraged to include information about their pending application, petition, or request.

STEP 1

Please sign in to your myUSCIS account. YOU CAN USE ANY MYUSCIS ACCOUNT to update your address.

If you do not have a USCIS online account or lose the previous one, you may create one by following the instructions on USCIS’s How to Create a USCIS Online Account page.

STEP 2

After you sign in to your myUSCIS account, you can find the “Change your address” option under My Account.

STEP 3

You are required to provide the following information:

  1. Your legal name (First Name, Middle Name, and Last Name);

  2. Your date of birth

  3. Your new physical address

  4. Your A-number (if any)

  5. Your Case Number (if any)

STEP 4

After you submit your request to update your address, you can click “View my submissions” to track your request. Completing the electronic Change of Address request online will satisfy your Form AR-11, Alien's Change of Address Card, requirement for each address change request.

Please note changing your address with USCIS will not change your address with the U.S. Postal Service (USPS). You may ask USPS to forward your mail to your location.

(If you have an application, petition, or request and your case is pending a decision, you need to provide your receipt notice. Do not submit a receipt number if USCIS has already issued a decision for that case and the case is closed.)
